Golden Grilled Tomato Cheese Sandwich
This golden pan grilled tomato cheese sandwich is a quick and flavorful dish that can be eaten as is or part of a meal with your favorite salad or French fries. Take it as a snack with potato crisps as an accompaniment and a hot cup of drinking chocolate.
Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
Cut the tomato into 4 slices and place on one of the slices of bread on the side that has not been buttered.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt, pinch of black pepper, and pinch of oregano on top of the tomato slices.
Place the slice of cheese over the tomato slices. If your cheese is not already sliced you can use a grater or cheese slicer to prepare the cheese.
Place the other slice on top of the cheese with the buttered side facing up.
Place sandwich in a pan or cast iron skillet and grill on low to medium heat for about two minutes or until golden brown. repeat the same on the other side of the sandwich.
Once grilled to perfection remove from heat and slice into two pieces and serve hot or cool with your favorite beverage or as part of a meal.
